I’ve been a little quiet on here of late but I have been busy behind the scenes getting ready for my only festive event of the season. This Sunday I will be in the beautiful @kelvingroveartgalleryandmuseum with @teagreenevents for what is sure to be a fabulous makers market to kick off the gifting season! This design has it all, 3 geometric shapes, 3 unique hand painted patterns on an adjustable cotton rope, it’s a statement necklace but not so chunky that it’s comfortable for every day wear. This collection was made for my lovely stockist @houseofjennystmonans 🖤

I’ve often mentioned how sketching, painting and making is like a therapy to me. It’s my down time and I find it incredibly meditative. But after a stressful week, I really noticed how much my mind quiets and my body calms when I am in my studio, my happy place. I really wouldn’t have it any other way 🖤
Now I best get back to it while I continue my prep for @teagreenevents this Sunday!

I never really plan what a 3 Ball necklace is going to look like in advance. I tend to paint lots of balls at once then spend some time playing with different combinations, trying to figure out which patterns work best, which designs contrast and compliment the next, until I find my favourite, with each unique to the next.

Today’s work in progress is some stacking flat bangles, some of which are being made for a new stockist - excited to tell you all about it when the time comes!
Wear alone or stack them up, I love mixing and matching the bangles with silver bracelets, the painted wood and shiny metal is a lovely contrast to each other 🖤

It’s @jenniferlemondesigns here continuing my @teagreenevents takeover, I thought for my second posts I’d take you through my design process.

I’m a mark maker at heart and every thing I design begins with my sketchbook. I don’t really plan a design, I just go with the flow and find drawing my patterns almost meditative. I love how repeating simple lines and marks builds up a pattern, creates tone and movement.

My favourite drawing tool at the moment’s is my parallel pen, it can crest a wide range of patterns and the marks made from this pen inspired the pattern on my hand painted artist shopper. Hope you enjoy my little sketchbook tour.

When making my wooden jewellery, I paint each bead and shape by hands I love home the 3D shapes give the patterns a new personality,

For my textile designs, I’ve been increasing using my IPad to create digital patterns for the fabric printers, which is a nice way to experiment and trial ideas over and over.
